About

Emer is an acclaimed Irish folk singer, enchanting audiences with her vocal purity and rich storytelling.  She has released three No 1 singles and a no 1 charting folk album, ‘Hourglass’, produced by Bill Shanley (Mary Black, Paul Brady, Gilbert O Sullivan).  Emer has received praise from Hot Press, RTE Behind the Music and Irish music Magazine, alongside airplay on national and international radio and features on Ireland’s RTE Television.

Most recently, Emer was a featured performer in Times Square during the New York St Patricks Day Celebrations, sharing the stage with artists such as Celtic Woman and the Celtic Tenors, and appearing on NBC.

She has established herself as a compelling live performer, touring extensively across Ireland with her band and performing a series of successful headline theatre shows, blending lively, up-tempo songs with heartfelt ballads. Emer is joined by the accomplished guitarist, Eamonn Moran and virtuoso fiddler, Shane Meehan. With their heartfelt performances and entertaining nature on stage, this dynamic trio have made shows a great success and allow for wonderful audience participation.

In November 2025, Emer embarked on her first USA Tour along the East Coast and was delighted to return in March 2026, performing in Times Square and the the New York Irish Centre. She was also honoured to sing the Irish National Anthem at the official launch of the 265th St Patricks Day Parade in New York.  Emer has toured with renowned folk legends, The Fureys, and was invited back for a second year on their Irish tour where she graced the stages of Ireland’s most iconic venues including Dublin’s Vicar Street, Cork’s Opera House, The Royal Theatre Castlebar, Wexford Opera House and many more. She also had the pleasure of joining folk legends, The High Kings in Western Australia in 2024, with a wonderful reception from the audience.

Offstage, Emer finds joy in connecting with people and she draws inspiration from walks in Ireland’s rugged landscapes, where she seeks new melodies and stories. Emer can work with Irish, acoustic, classical and even modern styles. She caught the attention of Leonard Cohen’s management team as they reached out and cited her rendition of his famous song, ‘Hallelujah’ as one of their favourite versions of the song.  Emer continues to weave her magic on and off the stage and she is leaving an indelible mark on the rich tapestry of Irish folk music and song.

Very saddened to hear of the passing of Glen Hansard today. He made a remarkable contribution to Irish music, and his songs will continue to inspire generations of musicians.

Here is a little tribute I recorded tonight to his Oscar-winning song, “Falling Slowly,” written and performed by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová. It’s a duet, but I wanted to share this in his memory.

Rest in peace, Glen

Are you shouting for Kerry or Mayo this weekend?

I have family and friends in both counties, so I’m starting with a Kerry song.

Hope all my friends in the USA had a wonderful Independence Day yesterday and are enjoying the holiday weekend 🇺🇸 Thinking of this special occasion brought back a lovely memory of singing the National Anthem at an Independence Day celebration hosted by the American Ambassador in the Phoenix Park Ireland a few years ago. It was a great honour 🎶😊🇮🇪🇺🇸
